Why 12 step programs don't work.

Drug Rehab is not a place for wimps

May 22nd, 2006 by Scott

I knew someone who went to drug rehab for 30 days, in a half-way house for about 6 months, and in another drug rehabilitation facility for 2 more months. They had found a hotel where all they had to do was go to the drug addiction classes every day to find out how to explore their own nightmares of drug abuse. It must have felt as pleasant as being hit by a telephone book, upside the head. Drug rehab therapy is popular (again), and it has become a sort of defensive way to treat addiction before you hit rock bottom…a kind of denial of a problem that can be treated before someone else finds out and exposes them to the best(or worst) treatment called jail. Rehab taught them that a drug rehab program is not a place for wimps.
