Drug Rehab and Relapse Prevention Plans

March 27th, 2007 by Terry Keith

When you leave a drug and alcohol rehab center, a key component you will leave with is a relapse prevention plan.  This is the key to sobriety.  Uncontrolled stress is the silent killer of sobriety.  If you have uncontrolled stress consistently in your life, you will relapse.  There is only one way to truly control stress.  Its not like you can "will" stress out of your life.  Our urban lifestyle will only get more stressful.

The only true armour against stress is structure.  Daily structure in your life is like a buffer and foundation against the winds of stress in your life.  Structure grounds your life.  Structure grounds your emotions.

We felt that structure and relapse prevention are so important we decided to write a book on it.  It will be available in 6 weeks to 2 months.  Anyone dealing with addiction or that has been through a rehab program and is still struggling to stay sober will find it a very useful tool.
